Hello. My name is Kathryn and I’m a genealogy addict. (It is not my intention to discredit clinical addiction, but I truly believe that I’m addicted to genealogy.) Anyone who has felt the rush of finding a lost or forgotten ancestor knows what I’m talking about! Sometimes I get on Ancestry.com and just look at names. They don’t even have to be related to me to give me a buzz. I am relatively new to the world of genealogy. When I was little I used to think that genealogy was for “old people.” I became “old” when I was 25.
It all started one night, two years ago, when I had looked at some information about my Dad’s family history. I was hooked. For 3 nights I was up late thinking about all of my ancestors. At first I devoted most of my time to my Dad’s side of the family. He is from Ireland and I quickly ran out of information that I could research locally. (I’m in AK.) Then I started on my Mom’s side of the family. On her side, there are WWII Vets, Civil War Vets, Revolutionary War Vets, and even Mayflower passengers.
This blog is dedicated our ancestors. To their stories and their lives.
